Courses


SolArc offers the following standard courses (typical class length is shown in parentheses)

 

Introduction to SolArc RightAngle – Project Team (1 Day)

Provides an overview of application functionality, data flow, integration of functional domains and an overview of basic functionality from deal to invoice. This more in-depth version of the Introduction class covers all topics and includes hands-on exercises. One of the two introduction courses is recommended for all users.

 

Introduction to SolArc RightAngle – End Users (½ Day)

Provides an overview of application functionality, data flow, integration of functional domains and an overview of basic functionality from deal to invoice. This shorter version is designed for end-users when time is at a premium. This course reduces some topics, removes others and replaces hands-on exercises with follow-along exercises. One of the two Introduction courses is recommended for all users.

 

Trading Deals (½ Day)

Provides an understanding of trading deal capture in RightAngle. Trading deals include physical, financial, hybrid and inhouse deals. Course covers deal entry, price provision usage, navigating the application and other basic deal-related activities. This course is recommended for most users but is designed specifically for traders and marketers.

 

Logistics Deals (½ Day)

Provides an understanding of SolArc RightAngle logistics deals including transportation, storage, processing, blending and voyages. Covers logistics deal entry, logistics pricing provisions, and advanced deal-capture functionality. This course is recommended for those responsible for setting up and managing logistics deals—typically schedulers.

 

Scheduling (1 Day)

Provides an understanding of all basic scheduling functionality, including the Scheduling Desktop, Order Viewer, Scheduling Workbench and Movement Matching Tool. Topics include managing receipt/delivery transfers, planning product movements and matching plans to actuals. This course is recommended for schedulers.

 

Accounting (1 Day)

Provides an understanding of SolArc RightAngle accounting functionality. Includes the creation and valuing of accounting transactions, invoicing, payables matching, reconciliation, transaction types and groups and account coding. This course is recommended for accountants.

 

Reporting (1 Day)

Provides an understanding of how to retrieve and present information to meet your needs. Participants learn to customize reports on-the-fly, define and save reusable reporting tools and create personal report views. This course is recommended for most users, but especially risk analysts and power users.

 

Reference Data (1 Day)

Provides an understanding of the fundamental data that is required for SolArc RightAngle to function and the complexities of how it is integrated. The curriculum provides definitions and examples of the data, restrictions that apply and the steps to create and maintain the data. Additionally, there are hands-on exercises for many of the pieces of data. This course is recommended for project team members, IT support and power users.

 

Pricing/Valuation (1 Day)

Provides an understanding of how to define and maintain price services, prices and deal pricing provisions. This course familiarizes participants with the valuation process and introduces methods and tools used to investigate transaction values. This course is recommended for pricing analysts, risk analysts, project team members and accountants involved in transaction investigation.

 

Risk Setup (½ Day)

Provides an understanding of the setup of RiskCenter functionality. This course covers the creation of Strategies, Portfolios, Position Groups and Forward & Market Price Curves and elaborates on the processes used to generate RiskCenter data. This course is recommended for Risk Analysts and those responsible for setting up and maintaining RiskCenter in RightAngle.

 

FuelCenter (½ Day)

Provides an understanding of the setup and functionality of FuelCenter. This course covers functional terminology, reference data entry (Aircraft and Flights), management of planning and historical activity (Flight Projections, Flight Details and Flight Detail Averages) and creation of forecast and budget reports (Flight Estimated Fuel, Search Fuel Forecast, Search Fuel Forecast Detail and Search Fuel Variance). This class is recommended for those responsible for developing and managing the fuel forecasts and budgets, as well as the End User Support Coordinator.

 

Data Model (1 Day)

Provides an understanding of the RightAngle data model from Deal to Transaction. Topics include data structures, how business processes tie to the data model, the flow of data through RightAngle and an overview of standard interfaces. Recommended for the End User Support Coordinator (EUSC) and IT/development staff.
